an action a day (action 361)

it takes me 2420 steps to walk along Frederick from Weber to the Frederick Street Mall and back.  the return trip is spent contemplating the sad sad state of health food affairs in Kitchener and missing (missing!) Staff of Life in particular and health food stores in Santa Cruz in general.  At every 365th step a little jump was taken.  total time: 28 minutes and 02 seconds.

an action a day (action 358)

christmas light meditation: it takes me 6 minutes and 18 seconds to count to 365, letting my eyes rest lightly on a lightbulb for each count, as my mother prepares the tree for its formal dressing.  this activity is designed to keep me calm in the face of my mother’s frantic qualities, which are now coming back to me full force.

an action a day (action 355 and 356 for the the mysterious day that I seem to have lost)

355: from this position on the couch, i can count 162 ornaments and lights on the tree that Sherri, Renie, and Sha just put up.  it takes me 4 minutes and 26 seconds to count 162 of them, 3 minutes and 12 seconds to try to count them again, but finding  167 this time, and 1 minute, 51 seconds to pick out my favorite 36 ornaments.

356: the 365th word of the text i am currently working on is “the.”  it appears in the following sentence:  “I find Bourriaud’s performance of curator-critic a very interesting topic in the context of debates on the role and function of the curator/ curator-artist today.”  it takes me 37 seconds to determine this.
